Sound equipment: DV Promix 3 - Portable 3 channel Field Production and Eng Mixer |
Microphone: Audio-Technica Short Shotgun Headphones: Sennheiser Blue/Green Screen: Botero Collapsilbe Reversible 5x7' Chromakey Blue/Green. It's a great product for those on a very limited budget. However, there are drawbacks: (1) You need to steam iron it before shooting (every little wrinkle shows up as a different color making keying difficult) and (2) you need to have someone who knows how to stuff/fold it back into its cover. Dolly: Bogen Variable Leg Spread Portable Dolly. (Even on a smooth floor, it was awkward. We could only use it in one scene and had to delete the sound.) Camera Stabilizer: Varizoom DV Rig Pro Shoulder-Mount Stabalizng Bracket for Canon XL2. (It was comfortable when just standing with the XL2 on the shoulder. However, the metal piece that goes over the shoulder wasn't adjustable and was obviously meant for someone with bigger shoulders than Summers'. After using it for about two scenes, we went back to hand held.) Tripod: Velbon Videomate 607. (Very smooth fluid panhead. Best value for the money.) |
Canon XL2 Shot in 16:9, 24p Focus Firestore (FS-40GB) attached to XL2 (records simultaneously to the hard drive as an AVI file) Canon ZR-200 used by Black to frame shots and for behind the scenes footage |
Computer: Robert, our brother, custom built the computer we needed for editing. |
AMD Atholon 64 X2 4800 (had to turn off one of the processors in order to capture using Premiere Pro) Thermaltake Xaser III case Cosair DDR2 (4x512) 2GB ASUS A8n SLI Deluse NForce 4 939 DDR400 2xPCIE Hard Drives: Seagate Barracuda - 250GB and Maxtor 300GB |
NLE Software: During the summer of 2005 we downloaded trial versions of Vegas and Premier Pro (Avid wasn't an option -- too expensive). Although there were things we liked about Vegas, we decided the best value was to buy Adobe's Professional Video Collection (Premier Pro, After Effects, Encore DVD, Audition, and Photoshop CS2). |
